Deepam Global team members Suresh & Umesh handed over bedsheets, blankets to the people affected by Chennai floods near Siruseri.
DG Team also found that the huts are being reconstructed at a cost and the people requested DG team to reconstruct and provide long-term relief.

Christmas Celebration with Aarul Illam Kids

On occasion of Christmas Eve Dec 24th, A team from Deepam Global including Mr.Manish, trustee Deepam Global and Mr.Suresh, SRM 94 Batch made a surprise visit to Arul Illam and celebrated Christmas with the kids by cutting the Xmas cake. They distributed gifts and spent a memorable day with the kids. The kids enjoyed every moment of the celebration and it was a special occasion for all.

Deepam Global’s team lead by Ms.Malathi set a camp at Mylai Balaji Nagar. The team used stock medicines available with us and sponsored by the 1985 batch Doctors of MMC College who were camp doctors as well. Total 180 patients got benefitted from this camp.
Doctors who made our camp a real success were:

As of now the team of Doctors are bringing medicines. We need to arrange multi-vitamins & creams for the next camp.

Flood Relief aid on Dec 14, 2015

During floods in Chennai, lots of families lost their houses and belonging. We tried to help them to get back to normal life by taking responsibility for two families(based on their financial background). One was Mr.Mohan of Jafferkhanpet and Mr.Satish kumar of Chinthadripet. They lost everything in the flood and were left with the dress they were wearing.

The total short-term rehabilitation budget came around Rs. 70,000. We bought the following to the two families:

1. Provisions
2. Stove(2 Nos)
3. Cooker(2 Nos)
4. Bed sheets(6 Nos)
5. Pillows(6 Nos)
6. Fan(3 Nos)
7. Tube light(6 Nos)
8. Vessels
9. Medicines
10. School Bag and Shoe for Mohan’s Son
An additional sum of Rs. 2,500 given to both families. We would like to thank Mr.Prakash, Mr.Sriram, Mr.Jayaram, Mr.Kumaran & Mr.Elango for their ardent support to both the families in their tough times.

Deepam Global team Mr.Sriram, Mr.Manish, Ms.Deepa accompanied by Mr. Suresh Rajan (Earnt & Young, SRM 94 batch) handed over cheque of Rs. 25,000 towards recovery of notebooks & books for 75 kids in Arul Illam, Vandaloor.
Mr. Suresh and the team were involved in distribution of Neem water through Isha Yoga Foundation.

Flood Relief aid on Dec 12, 2015

The team Krishna started with delivery follow-up from Erode for 300 blankets. Mr.Sriram, Mr.Manish & Mr.Krishna finally received the blankets at 2:30PM for delivery at Shri Mylai Balaji Nagar, Pallikarnai.
There are 10,000 families in the area completely affected by the recent rains & floods in Chennai. 200 blankets with other accessories were distributed through Ms. Malathi who took care of all the arrangements including the distribution of tokens to the most affected families.
Ms. Malathi also requested us to sponsor medicines for at least 100 families for which we are awaiting prescription from the resident doctor. Mr.Suresh from Earnt & Young, SRM 94 batch accompanied the Deepam Global team comprising of Mr.Sriram, Mr.Manish & Ms.Deepa.
There was immediate requirement of additional 100 units of blankets, that was well served by Velayutham on time on a short notice.
